Ella Eyre

Biography

With a double platinum number one single under her belt, a BRIT Award, two MOBO Awards, two further platinum selling singles and a top 5 album, perhaps you’d expect Ella Eyre to rest on her laurels. You couldn’t be more wrong. The four years since her debut album, Feline, have taken Ella around the world on a mission to find herself both as a solo artist and as a person. In the wake of her father’s sudden passing in 2017 she experimented with sounds in the US, found healing and limitless inspiration in her fatherland, Jamaica, and returned to London full of confidence and a hard drive bursting with hits.

In 2018 Ella released Answerphone with production duo Banx & Ranx featuring Yxng Bane. With a dance-hall inflected beat and Ella’s irresistible knack for a moreish, lovelorn hook, it was an instant hit with over 100,000,000 streams and counting. Answerphone’s success gave added confidence in her new direction, but Ella was still keen to find a new creative home for her work. One billion streams later and Ella is now signed to the legendary Island Records.

Earlier this year Ella returned with her critically acclaimed single New Me, which The Guardian referred to as, “Eyre’s New Rules moment. A skittish, variously intimidating and insouciant anthem…”.

Her latest release L.O.V.(e) has been a consistent fan favorite performed live by Ella over recent years and is the first in a series of tracks to be shared as a special gift to fans over the coming weeks.
