David Croft

Biography

David Croft is a commentator and presenter best known for his Sky Sports F1 affiliation. He is revered for his exemplary commentating talent, which comes from a place of true passion and enthusiasm. So far, David Croft has been commentating on Formula 1 for thirteen seasons.

His ties to motorsport began when he became the F1 correspondent for BBC Radio 5live. Here, he also reported on various other sports, including the 2002 World Cup and the 2004 Olympic Games. Off air however, David’s passion for cars does not end; on social media he has his own ‘Ask Crofty’ platform, in which he answers motorsport related questions from his fan base. This platform became such a hit that ‘Ask Crofty’ became his own TV show.

It is not only motorsport that Croft is involved in; in recent memory he presented Live Premier League Darts for Sky Sports, as well as the World Darts Championships for a decade. He has also commented on some major boxing matches, most notably Joe Calzaghe’s infamous bout against Roy Jones Jnr in Madison Square Garden.

In addition to commentary, David has also been involved with international film. In 2013, he was the voice of Lofty Crofty, a Disney production called Planes. He also hosted the live global premier of Rush, a film charting the notorious rivalry between Formula 1 drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda, during the 1976 Formula One season.

A truly exceptional presenter and host, David Croft is excellent at entertaining a crowd and getting an audience engaged.
