Dean Richards

Dean spent a large part of his career playing with Leicester Tigers between 1998 and 2004 as a surging number eight, clocking up a total of 314 caps before spending a year with Grenoble in France, and ending his career with Harlequins between 2005 and 2009.
A police constable for Leicestershire Constabulary between the 1980s and 1990s before the sport went professional, Dean captained Leicester for four seasons, won two titles and three cups with the team and played in the 1987, 1991 and 1995 World Cups. He was an integral member of the England set up this time and was often regarded as one of the best number 8s in the world at that time. Dean managed 48 caps for England and scored 24 points, as well as playing 6 times for the British & Irish Lions. Richards also has plenty of coaching experience, firstly at Leicester, then as Director of Rugby at the same club. He managed to win the Allied Dunbar Premiership during his tenure before going on to defend it four years in a row.
