Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Biography

Playing for ten clubs all across the world established Jerrel “Jimmy Floyd” Hasselbaink as a revered football talent. Now spending his time inspiring audiences and motivating people with his engaging and insightful speeches and public performances, Jimmy Floyd remains a true legend of the game. Jimmy played for 18 seasons, scoring an incredible 245 goals in that time and winning fans over at a wealth of different and equally successful clubs.

Jimmy broke records early on when he was signed for Atlético Madrid in 2000 as he cost a princely £15 million, but he rewarded that investment averaging nearly a goal every two games over the next four years. Before long Jimmy signed for Chelsea, scored in the Charity Shield against Manchester United and clocked up an impressive 26 goals in one season. He famously stuck up a fine partnership with Eiður Guðjohnsen and in turn helped his club get to the FA Cup Final, even if he was sadly too injured to play himself. Contributing greatly to Chelsea over the next two years – and helping them get to the Champions League on both occasions – Jimmy broke another record by being the only Chelsea sub to ever come on and score a hat trick. As well as playing for the Dutch national side, Jimmy also played for Middlesbrough, Charlton, Cardiff and Leeds. As a manager Jimmy has been in charge of Royal Antwerp in Belgium and has coached at the Nike Academy.
