John Corbett

Biography

Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominee John Corbett has earned a reputation as one of American TV’s most reliable actors over an impressive career that spans more than three decades. Given the role of Chris Stevens in CBS’ comedy drama Nothern Exposure in his early acting days, Corbett has since appeared in television and film alike, often portrayed in romantic roles, including the part of Aidan Shaw in HBO’s hit series Sex and the City, and leading man Ian Miller in iconic romantic comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

A swiftly rising profile saw Corbett appear in major motion pictures such as Raise Your Voice, Raising Helen and Bigger Than the Sky. In 2009 Corbett went on to star in Golden Globe-winning series United States of Tara as Toni Collette’s husband Max Gregson. After reprising the role of Aidan Shaw in the big-screen sequel of Sex and the City, Corbett went on to star along Sarah Paulson and Sam Elliott in the Hallmark seasonal film November Christmas, before appearing as Robert Quimby in Ramona & Beezus, a film based on the Ramona novel series. Corbett can more recently be seen in comedy series Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll and 2018 drama God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness.

Aside from his considerable success as an actor, Corbett has found fame as a country musician, signing a major-label record deal with Broken Bow Records, releasing a self-titled debut album and heading on tour with ZZ Top, Lisa Marie Presley and Charlie Daniels.
