Josh Bowman is an English actor best known for portraying Daniel Grayson in ABC’s drama series Revenge. Initially a professional rugby player, Bowman was obliged to cut his sporting career short in his very first season playing for top London rugby team Saracens F.C, following a serious shoulder injury. Required to make a swift change of career, he decided to pursue his artistic ambitions, making acting debut in the 2007 TV series The Genie in the House after studying method acting at New York’s Lee Strasberg Institute. After spending two years in the long-running hospital drama series Holby City, Bowman secured prominent roles in movies such as 13Hrs, Prowl, Exteriors and Love’s Kitchen. After portraying Gymnast Max Spencer in family show Make It or Break It, he was selected by Screen International as one of the Stars of Tomorrow.
Bowman is a series regular in ABC’s mystery thriller series Revenge, co-starring alongside his future wife Emily VanCamp. Appearing with Miley Cyrus, Jeremy Piven and Mike O’Malley, Bowman was cast in Tom Vaughan’s 2012 action comedy So Undercover. He has more recently appeared in TV documentary series Lore, playing Jack Parsons, while playing Krasko in BBC revival of the well-known adventure series Doctor Who. 2019 will see Bowman appear in the thrilling TV-movie Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story as Doctor Josiah.
