Katherine Evelyn Anita Cassidy is an American actress, born in 1986.
After a series of television appearances, she finally broke out into our cinema’s, with her debut in ‘When a Stranger Calls’. Released in 2006, the film starred the likes of Camilla Belle, Brian Geraghty, and Clark Gregg. It grossed over $66.9 million worldwide.
That same year, Katie also starred as Kelli Presley in Black Christmas. By 2007, she was starting to earn big attention, not least from her performance as Ruby in the TV horror show, Supernatural.
Other notable appearances include a supporting role in Taken – the smash-hit action thriller starring Liam Neeson. By 2009, Katie became a member of the Harper’s Island and Melrose Place cast.
The following year, she also earned a part as the famous Kris Fowles in A Nightmare on Elm Street, as well as Juliet Sharp in the fourth series of Gossip Girl. This was a highly successful recurring part.
However, Katie’s real breakthrough came in 2012, when she was cast as Laurel Lance in the massively popular TV series, Arrow. This gave rise to a huge franchise, dubbed the Arrowverse. Her role returns in The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Vixen.
Once Katie’s character Laurel Lance died in the Arrowverse, she turned into Black Siren – the evil and opposite incarnation from a parallel universe. Once again, this enigmatic character pops up in The Flash and Arrow.
