English actress Lucinda Dryzek has been delivering stellar performances since the age of eight, but it was her breakout role as the young Elizabeth Swann in the worldwide box office hit Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl that cemented her place in the acting world. She has since starred as Katy Riley in Life of Riley, and as the fun, energetic Jasmine Burrows in BBC’s medical drama Holby City.
Dryzek took over the character from actress Sophia La Porta in 2016, and her introduction was well-received by both audiences and critics. She was said by Inside Soap’s Laura-Jayne Tyler to have brought a “breath of fresh air to the wards of Holby City Hospital,” and her character’s death was a melancholic affair. The performance was long-listed for Inside Soap’s 2017 Best Drama Storyline.
Dryzek’s other television and movie performances include Lizzie Bisco in City of Ember, Lexie Bradley in Vital Signs, and Lady Devereux in Help! I’m a Teenage Outlaw. She has also appeared in several pantomimes such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Sound of Music, where she played Marta von Trapp.
Fans can look forward to her latest project, the reboot of cult sci-fi series The Twilight Zone, which will see the actress join the Jordan Peele-led cast to deliver epic fantasy and sci-fi stories for a new generation.
