Marc Edwards

Biography

Marc Edwards is a multilingual news and sports presenter for BBC News (World), a regular personality on Eurosport and the sports news correspondent for BBC Breakfast.

Marc Edward’s colourful career in television started with a bang – his debut appearance on the screen came in 2007, when he fronted the Chinese news show, Travelogue. The programme followed Marc along the Tea and Horse Trail – one of the highest and most perilous passages on the planet. Once a tea trade route connecting China to South Asia, it became the subject of a gripping travel show and was an an instant hit. The programme earned Marc respect as a skillful and trustworthy news anchor.

From here, Marc’s career grew exponentially. Thanks to his sporting expertise, he has been lucky enough to report on footballing events, cricket, tennis and extreme sports. He has also presented for shows like the FA People’s Cup, the BBC Red Button service, BT Sports Score, news and current affairs for London Live, Wake Up London, 14 to 1 on Saturdays, Tech 24, China’s International News and France 24’s night-time news.

One of Marc’s proudest moments came in 2012, when he was chosen by Danny Boyle to be the official announcer of the opening and closing ceremonies for the London 2012 Olympics and the Paralympic Games.

As a result of Marc’s multilingual abilities and sheer versatility, he has been adorned with a colourful career and been lucky enough to deliver compelling news pieces from every corner of the planet.
