Matt Baker

Biography

Matt Baker is the British television personality, perhaps best known for his seven and a half year presenting role at Blue Peter.
Today, Matt is one of the warmest and most beloved presenters of the UK. With a grand total of 18 years of experience at the BBC, presenting a vast number of shows, he has been adorned with a Royal Television Society award and two BAFTA awards for Best Children’s presenter.

From sport to wildlife, Matt has presented a wide variety of shows, the most notable of which include BBC Sport Gymnastics, the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, London 2012 Olympics, the London Marathon, Jonny Wilkinson’s Hotshots Rugby and the National, European and World Gymnastics Championships. As testament to his presenting prowess and versatility, he has also presented memorable shows like The Gift, Secret Britain, Animal Rescue Squad, One Man and His Dog and Crufts.

As a result of Matt’s successful career, he has become a key personality within the BBC, co-hosting The One Show from Monday to Thursday and filming for BBC1’s award winning Sunday night show, Countryfile.

Other achievements include hosting Wild Alaska Live, a BAFTA nominated television event for BBC1. This series was a phenomenal success and covered some jaw-dropping wildlife spectacles from across the globe.

In more recent memory, Matt Baker was lucky enough to co-present the Royal Wedding Watch. This was a five part series which ultimately led to the live broadcast of the Royal Wedding, for PBS.
