Television and radio presenter Ore Oduba has forged an illustrious career in British media, appearing on children’s news programme Newsround, hosting the And They’re Off! in aid of Sport Relief and famously presenting BBC One’s quiz show Hardball. Oduba is also known to British viewers as the winner of the fourteenth edition of BBC One’s popular televised dance contest Strictly Come Dancing.
Born in London to Nigerian parents, Oduba attended Loughborough University, graduating in 2008. With a keen ambition for a career in broadcasting and entertainment, Oduba joined Edinburgh based television festival scheme The Network. Making his career beginnings as a reporter and bulletin presenter for Newsround, Oduba was swiftly upgraded to co-presenter next to Sonali Shah.
Quickly gaining bigger slots on BBC 1 for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Oduba appeared in the BBC’s Olympic coverage in 2016, swiftly becoming a household name within British media.
