Classically trained actor Rocky Carroll is a vital presence on American screens. His illustrious career takes in a number of varied performances, including Joey Emerson in FOX comedy-drama Roc, Dr. Keith Wilkes in CBS medical drama Chicago Hope and appearances police procedural NCIS and it’s various spin-offs.
Born in Cincinnati as Roscoe Carroll, he attended the prestigious School for Creative and Performing Arts, graduating in 1981. Dedicated to pursuing his dream, he went on to attend The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in St. Louis, earning a BFA. Early on in his career, Carroll proved himself as a confident stage actor capable of taking on a range of difficult roles. His performances were often critically acclaimed: the actor starred in a play that earned a Pulitzer Prize For Drama, and nominations for Drama Desk and Tony Awards. After making his name on stage, Carroll moved into TV, appearing in series such as Chicago Hope, Law & Order and The West Wing. The performance that would fully project him into public eye came with the role of Assistant Director Leon Vance on investigative drama NCIS. Rocky has gone on to make his directorial debut with the show, stepping behind the camera for seven episodes. Carroll now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter, continuing to take on major roles that showcase his exceptional talent and charisma.
