Ross Kemp

Biography

Actor, presenter, author and investigative journalist, Ross Kemp is one of British TV’s best-known faces. Kicking off his acting career in 1990 with a central role in beloved BBC soap opera Eastenders, Kemp stunned viewers for almost a decade as Albert Square’s most fearsome hard-man, Grant Mitchell.

Following his departure from the soap world, Kemp reinvented himself as a presenter and documentarian, fronting the hugely popular, BAFTA Award-winning documentary series Ross Kemp on Gangs. Exploring the devastating impact of modern gang culture in far-flung countries around the world, the series spawned several spin-offs that saw Kemp venture into similarly dangerous locales to explore equally controversial subjects. Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, Ross Kemp in Search of Pirates and Ross Kemp: Extreme World all served to cement his unique reputation as a noted tough guy with an investigative talent.

Aside from his documentary work, Kemp has made numerous appearances in some of Britain’s most popular television programmes: Ultimate Force, Extras, The Friday Night Project, Top Gear and A Christmas Carol. He’s also authored several books, including the thrilling novels Moving Target and Devil to Pay, and appeared live on stage in Ross Kemp: Extreme Tales Live. His latest documentary series, ITV’s Ross Kemp & The Armed Police, aired in 2018.
