An inspirational figure and a truly talented sportswoman, Dame Sarah Storey is Great Britain’s most decorated female Paralympian of all time. As such Sarah is a hugely motivational figure who can educate and excite audiences of all descriptions and instil a certain sense of drive in them given what she has had to overcome to get to the top of the sports world. Sarah is British road and track racing cyclist and former swimmer whose total medal count of eleven puts her on a par with Tanni Grey-Thompson and Dave Roberts, considered among the most successful British Paralympians. In her time Sarah has won 11 Gold, 8 Silver and 3 Bronze medals across six separate Paralympic Games and began her career as a swimmer in 1992 aged just 14. She’s since won World and Paralympic Gold medals for her country across both cycling and swimming, comprising 11 different events. In an international career that has spanned more than 20 years, Sarah’s is a unique and inspiring story. At London 2012, Sarah topped the medal table for the British team with 4 Gold medals from 4 events and was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2013 New Year Honours as well as being a nominee for the 2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
