Following his breakthrough role in the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect, Skylar Astin has become a critically-acclaimed American actor, model, and singer. His performances as Jesse Swanson in Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2 were highly praised by fans and critics alike, earning him a Teen Choice Award in 2012, and a 2015 award for Choice Movie Actor in a Comedy.
Prior to his career-defining role in Pitch Perfect, New-York born Skylar Astin had major success on Broadway as part of the original cast for Spring Awakening. He also starred in a production of Rent directed by Neil Patrick Harris alongside high-profile costars Aaron Tveit and Vanessa Hudgens. In 2012, Astin also played the voice of Roy in Disney’s 3D computer-animated comedy film Wreck-It Ralph, going on to win several awards including a Critics’ Choice Movie Award and a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.
Working extensively across film, TV, and stage, Astin’s most recent ventures have been on the TV screen. In 2018, he took on the role of Greg Serrano in the CW musical comedy series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and built on his success as a voice actor with a central part in Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, a 2018 American television series produced by DreamWorks Animation.
