Treasure the South Korean boy band formed in 2019 by YG Entertainment through its reality-survival program YG Treasure Box (2018). The 12-piece group consists of members Choi Hyun-suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Mashiho, Yoon Jae-hyuk, Asahi, Bang Ye-dam, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeong-woo and So Jung-hwan. They were appointed to share joint leadership between Choi Hyun-suk and Jihoon, whom are also the eldest members, and debuted on August 7, 2020, with the single album, The First Step: Chapter One.
Ahead of debut, the group became the fastest South Korean act to chart on Billboard’s Social 50, and earned numerous new artist of the year awards including Rookie Artist of the Year at the 35th Golden Disc Awards and Best New Male Artist at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards. Notably, 5 months after debut the group collectively sold over one million copies for their The First Step series and was titled “Million Seller”. Outside of music, Treasure actively participates in various charitable events alongside Muju YG Foundation.
