Alex Beresford

Biography

Dare devil presenter Alex Beresford is a solid option for weather reporting needs and documentary duties of a scientific nature, which can even stretch to jumping out of a hot air balloon at 10,000ft if you so wish.

Alex joined ITV as an autocue operator but before long he was presenting the weather on Bristol’s main news programme every weekday at 6 o’clock. The obvious next step was to present ITV’s national forecast. It’s been upwards from there: delivering early morning weather on ITV’s Daybreak and appearing on ITV’s This Morning to cover weather-related stories such as “Frozen Britain” or for the altogether more jovial task of rounding up tents with TV personality Louis Spence.

Attracting an audience average of 1.5 million per episode, “World’s Weirdest Weather” was Alex first foray into presenting documentaries on Channel 4 back in 2013. The three-part series explored strange weather phenomena from freak desert snowstorms to glow-in-the-dark ocean waves. In May 2015, Alex was sent out to Oklahoma where a brutal tornado had torn through the city of Moore, racking up a sizeable death count. Looking at the science underlying the twister and meeting locals who were caught up in the disaster, Super Tornado aired on Channel 4 and was an unforgettable experience for Alex. By no means limited to weather, Alex has a hidden passion for music and he’s interviewed celebrities including Olly Murs and JLS.
