Connie Fisher

Biography

Connie Fisher is an acclaimed actress and presenter who is well known around the UK and adds real value to any event at which she appears, on any show in which she is a part. Her most celebrated role came as the lead in How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria at The London Palladium. That great lead came about after she won How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?’, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hugely popular reality TV show for the BBC. Other great successes for Connie came in 2009 when she made her debut on the TV screen in ITV’s drama Caught in a Trap. Her role was playing a character obsessed with Elis Presley and she then went on to star in the film The Wedding Dress in 2009.

After this, Connie went on to be a key part of the national tour of The Sound of Music and has also been in things like ‘They’re Playing Our Song’ at The Menier Chocolate Factory, and was the lead role in 2012 of Bernstein’s ‘Wonderful Town’, which also toured the UK. Aside from her great on stage presence, Connie ha become a regular on TV and has hosted ‘The National Lottery’ as well as ‘Cardiff Singer of the World’ for BBC Wales. She also has her own show on the BBC called ‘Connie’s Musical Map of Wales’ as well as ‘Connie’s People’. Her confidence on camera translated to the airwaves when she hosted her own show for BBC Radio Wales ‘The Connie Fisher Show’ and is now regularly on the ‘Songs of Praise’ show on BBC One.
