Jacinda Barrett

Biography

Not many foreign actors can feign as convincing an accent as Australian-born Jacinda Barrett. After a modelling career spanning from her late teens to early twenties, Barrett decided to move on to the big screen, joining MTV Real World: London in 1995, a decision that would introduce her to audiences all over the world. After this role, Barrett decided to hone her skills in acting while studying drama at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford.

Her big break came with immediate critical praise for her feature in The Human Stain (2003) which was directed by Oscar-winner Robert Benton and saw her act alongside the likes of Anthony Hopkins, Nicole Kidman and Ed Harris. She continued to make appearances in blockbusters such as Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and eventually found herself co-starring in major movies such as Ladder 49 along Joaquin Phoenix and John Travolta, Poseidon along Kurt Russell, The Namesake with Kal Penn and more recently, The Last Kiss alongside Zach Braff, an indie-romance that prompted critical acclaim.

Barrett was voted as one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People. In recent years she has been featured alongside her husband Gabriel Macht in the 2011 hit series Suits, while accepting prominent roles in the 2016 drama So B. It and sci-fi horror movie Seven in Heaven.
