Katie Thistleton

Biography

Katie Thistleton is a TV and radio presenter best known for her regular appearances on CBBC. Also now a key voice on BBC Radio 1, Katie follows in the footsteps of the likes of Zoe Ball and Jake Humphrey as a front woman for CBBC and is also an NCTJ qualified journalist and writer who thrives in the live environment and is hugely comfortable, natural and charming in front of the camera. She works with children and animals in such environments and so knows how to deal with high pressure situations and is able to fill air time when needed as well as present amongst live show chaos.
Katie has worked on shows including Blue Peter and Celebrity Eggheads, Jedward’s Big Adventure and Children In Need amongst many others. She has also hosted plenty of live shows so has years of great experience and her credits include a celebration of 30 years of Children’s BBC which she co-presented with Cel Spellman and featuring CBBC alumni such as Phillip Schofield. She has also hosted Junior Bake Off and is a keen writer who presents The CBBC Book Club. She has also judged a number of book prizes including The Blue Peter Book Awards and The Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize and also writes freelance about a range of subjects, hosts events for book publishers and is writing her own first book due out in September 2017. Katie has also worked for BAFTA Kids, is an ambassador for the Mind charity and so is a professional and dedicated presenter and host who can connect with a wide range of audiences.
