Lee McKenzie

Biography

Respected journalist and presenter Lee McKenzie is one of the most accomplished of her time and as such has worked on huge events, sporting occasions and news stories throughout her career. These take in presenting the news as the youngest ever person to do so aged just 22 on Border TV after only a year working with the broadcaster. As well as this Lee was a written journalist as young as 15 when she started her career, and starting out in the news sector she immediately secured big jobs covering the main stories as well as elections and big court cases.
A passionate countryside girl who loves her surroundings in Alloway, on the West coast of Scotland, Lee now travels the world to bring us the big stories and always does so competently and professionally when in front of camera. Her background is in horses and equestrian matters and so she has as great affinity for and understanding of the animals as well as being a patron of World Horse Welfare. More recently Lee has become a go to sports journalist who has covered everything from horse racing to rugby and the Six Nations to tennis, the Commonwealth Games, World Rally Championships and most famously of all, Formula 1. She has worked for the BBC as well as Channel 4, writes many features for all the top papers and websites and made history by becoming the first female recipient of the Jim Clark memorial award, which acknowledges achievements within the world of motorsport and the motoring industry.
