National treasure Lorraine Kelly has been a permanent fixture on British screens for over 20 years. Her eponymous Lorraine show, which is aired every weekday morning on ITV, sees her discuss national, global and showbiz news, and often draws up to a million viewers each morning. As well as being an accomplished presenter and journalist, Kelly has also worked as a model and actress and is a registered patron for several well-known charities where she has helped raise millions of pounds over the course of her illustrious career.
She first emerged on our screens in the early 80s, appearing as the Scotland correspondent on TV-AM. She eventually became the one of the main presenters of Good Morning Britain at the beginning of the 90s. Since then, Kelly as barely left British screens. She was instrumental in the launch of GMTV, her national popularity leading to the creation of the unbelievably popular Lorraine Live, LK Today, and GMTV wit Lorraine. Over the last decade, Kelly has continued presenting daytime television with her flagship Lorraine programme, which she still presents today. Kelly has also presented a number of lifestyle and reality television programmes, including the popular Saturday night show Wedding Day Winners for the BBC and Lorraine Kelly’s Big Fat Challenge for the Bio channel. Her natural comedic flair has also led to guest presenting roles on British comedy panel shows Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Kelly is an accomplished writer and writes weekly columns for the Sun and the Sunday post newspapers. She is a registered patron for Worldwide Cancer Research and the British veterans’ charity, Help for Heroes. One of Kelly’s proudest moments came in 2011 when she took part in a trek across the Kaisut Desert for Comic Relief, raising over £1,300,00 in the process.
