Mauricio Ochmann

Biography

Mauricio Ochmann is an American actor known for turning out charming performances across a range of popular telenovelas and blockbusting cinema productions. Born in Mexico, this gifted performer found his first televised role in the Mexican comedy series The Other Thing. A move to Los Angeles saw the actor develop his abilities at the Joanne Baron Acting Studio before landing a breakout performance in the 1999 romantic drama Message in a Bottle, starring alongside Kevin Costner. This role gave him crucial experience, introducing Ochmann to American audiences for the first time while leading to a significant role in the CBS sitcom That’s Life.

Ochmann has since carved out a place within the world of telenovelas, starring in the stunningly popular TV productions El Senor de los Cielos and El Chema. The latter was a phenomenal success, earning the highest ratings of any TV show in the history of the Telemundo network. The actor has since appeared in further Telemundo productions, including Victoria and Victorinos, while taking on a leading role in El Clon and making a guest appearance in the hit Netflix anthology series Easy. Not only a regular presence on the small screen, Ochmann has appeared in some of the highest-grossing Spanish-language films of the past decade, taking leading roles in 2015’s A la Mala, 2017’s Hazlo Como Hombre and the 2018 Lionsgate production Ya Veremos. The actor has recently stepped behind the camera to act as executive producer for several pictures, founding the production company A Toda Madre Entertainment alongside his wife Aislinn Derbez.
