Biography

Melissa has a long and rich history on America’s entertainment circuit. In the 1990’s, she was a regular face on our screens; appearing in shows like Her Deadly Rival, Close to Danger, Any Place But Home, A Season in Purgatory and Pirates of Silicon Valley.
Melissa’s TV debut however, came in ’93, when she was offered a role in ABC’s legal drama, Matlock. Following the criminal defence attorney, Ben Matlock, the show proved a roaring success. Thanks to Melissa’s performance, she went on to appear in several other series, such as In the Heat of the Night, American Gothic, Profiler, Walker, Texas Ranger and Dawson’s Creek.
However, Melissa McBride is today best known for her part in the sensational TV series, Walking Dead. Thanks to her connection with Frank Darabont, she was cast as Carol Peletier – her biggest part to date. Melissa played her character expertly well and became a series regular by the second season.
Melissa McBride has received much critical acclaim and positive fan reviews for her part in The Walking Dead. At the 40th and 41st Annual Saturn Awards, she won the award for Best Supporting Actress on Television. She was also nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2014 and in 2015 she was nominated for a Fangoria Chainsaw Award for Best Leading Actress in a Television series.
